Educational Testing
Service (ETS) developed the Certified
Professional Development Trainer program
to help define and establish
professional standards throughout the
training industry. The CPDT
certificate is a cross-industry,
portable credential that provides
recognition that a trainer has attained
a standard of excellence in the training
industry.
It measures an
individual's mastery of instructional
design and training delivery as defined
by the
International Board of Standards for
Training, Performance, and Instruction
(IBSTPI).
What Are the
Criteria?
To earn the CPDT designation, the
facilitator must pass both a
computer-based test that assesses their
training and design knowledge and a live
performance assessment in which they
demonstrate the skills described in the
Standards.
